| Superman | Information In June, 1938, the first issue of Action Comics, with Superman on the cover, appeared on the newsstands. The first Superman story was 13 pages long. The character was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster. They had come up with the idea 1933 and were unsuccessful in their attempts to publish Superman to Pulp magazine publishers.
