Information
The
Lynx is found in Europe, North American and Northern
Asia. It's main habitat is usually a forest but it is
often found in scrub lands and norther tundra. A Lynx
can be anywhere between 2-4 feet in length when fully
grown, although the Canadian Lynx is often slightly
smaller then it's Eastern counterparts. It grows from
anywhere between 15 and 40 pounds when fully grown and
it's average lifespan is 15-18 years in the wild. The
Lynx hunts alone like all other cats but when food is
scarce groups of this animal have been observed hunting
together. It also eats fish, toads, grasshoppers, small
deer, and hares which are it's favourite meal. But it
is also known to scavenge the dead caribou carcuses
and mooses. The fur is often spotted on the lynx but
the Canadian Lynx usually has a grayer appearance. It's
fur helps it hide in the snow during it's hunt to help
it lash out on unsuspecting prey. It is also nocturnal
animal, meaning it hunts mostly at night.
