Information
In
some way the Komodo Dragon is a living dinosaur. It
is the world's largest monitor lizard and it can grow
up to 10 feet in length and weith 300 pounds. It's lifespan
is also impressive at over 100 years. The Komodo is
like a snake because it can separate it's lower jaw
to allow it to eat big prey. It is known to eat small
deer, cows, wild boars and even people from time to
time. When there is no food around komodos' will eat
each other. Today the komodo is endangered and lives
on Komodo Island, properly named after it. It is also
found in the Sundra Islands in Indonesia. It got there
by swimming over. You heard me, this thing can swim
from island to island looking for food. Farmers on remote
south pacific islands complain that it eats many of
their cattle which are helpless from this modern day
monster. The Komodo bites into it's prey and releases
a venom that slowly kills the beast preparing it for
the Komodo's final attack.
