King Cobra
Information

The King Cobra has a hood that becomes flared when it is disturbed or angry. Its hood sticks out due to the extension of the ribs behind the cobras' head. Cobras are often found in the Philippines, south Asia and Africa. It is the world's longest poisonous snake and can grow to just over 18 feet. This snake is responsible for thousands of deaths annually in India alone. It can also spit it's venom out at a distance of about 8 feet. If the venom gets into your eyes it will cause temporary blindness and if it is not treated it may cause permanent blindness. The king cobra can control how and when it will release venom when it becomes an adult depending on it's percieved threat. If you are bitten by a cobra you need to get serum to counteract the effects of the snake bite. It you don't you will die as the venom will destroy your nervous system. The Cobra's venom is also used by the snake to help it aid in digesting it's prey.
