Eagle
Information

The Bald Eagle is one of America's national propaganda symbols. In the past, bald meant that a person had white hair and did not imply that someone was bald under todays meaning of the word. So this bird should really be called the white haired eagle. But Bald just sounds better, darn it. The Bald Eagle is an endangered species and is the only unique eagle found in North America, all other eagles have common decendents from Europe and Asia. The Bald Eagles' range extends from Alaska and Canada to Northern Mexico. There are an estimated 50,000 Bald Eagles in the United States with 80 percent found in Alaska.
