Coyote
Information

The Coyotes lesser known name is the Desert Wolf. Although it doesn't always live in the desert and it looks more like a dog. They are capable of surviving in rural and urban areas and often prefer fields and farmlands with tons of open space. They grow to be about the size of an average german sheppard, making their size dangerous to humans. The male of the species is also often much larger then the female just like in people. You can also recognize a coyote from a wolf by looking at its tail. Domestic dogs and coyotes carry their tail low when running, unlike the wolf. The front foot of a coyote is larger then it's back foot to help it reach its maximum speed of fifty kilometers per hour. This is approximately 30 mph for all of you on the other measuring system. They hunt in groups when they are old enough to call out to each other. Their call can travel up to 4.5 km or 3 miles out at night in the open spaces. Coyotes can survive in urban areas as long as they can find food and shelter. They use ravines and river or creekbeds to travel between urban centers.
