Diane left in 1987 to write a novel and was replaced by Rebecca Howe (Kirstie Alley), a barmaid. The regular patrons include: accountant, Norm Peterson (George Wendt), Cliff Clavin, the local mailman with a huge knack for trivia (John Ratzenberger); psychologist, Dr. Frazier Crane (Kelsey Grammar) and his wife, psychologist, Dr. Lillith Sternin (Bebe Neuwirth).

Cheers premiered on NBC on September 30, 1982. In total, there were TEN seasons. The series revolved around a neighborhood bar called Cheers in Boston, Massachusetts where "everybody knows your name".
